Tinaye Makuyana, where wall art becomes sculpture

What stopped us was what the light does to the work. Makuyana's folded paper sculptures shift throughout the day — folds catch and release, shadows move, colours deepen. A piece you saw at noon looks different by late afternoon. You are never quite looking at the same thing twice.
Based in London, Makuyana scores and moulds 100% cotton fibre paper into three-dimensional structures that sit, freely, between wall art and sculpture. That freedom is the point. These pieces hang, they project, they glow, and they ask you to keep coming back.
